itinerary
Upon arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport or Arusha Airport, you will be warmly welcomed by your professional safari guide. After a brief introduction, you will be transferred to your hotel in Arusha for check-in and relaxation. Depending on your arrival time, you may enjoy a short city tour or simply unwind at your lodge while preparing for the exciting days ahead. A pre-safari briefing will be conducted in the evening.
After an early breakfast, your journey begins as you depart Arusha and head southwest toward Tarangire National Park, a journey of approximately two hours. Often referred to as the “Land of Giants,” Tarangire is famed for its huge elephant herds and majestic baobab trees that dot the landscape. You will spend the entire day exploring the park’s diverse habitats, including riverine forests, swamps, and open plains, which host an impressive variety of wildlife such as lions, giraffes, zebras, buffaloes, and many species of birds. A picnic lunch will be served at a scenic spot within the park. Later in the day, you will exit the park and transfer to your lodge or tented camp located near the park for dinner and overnight.
Following breakfast, your safari continues with a scenic drive through the Ngorongoro highlands en route to Serengeti National Park. Along the way, enjoy a brief stop at a Maasai village or viewpoint if time allows. As you enter Serengeti via the Naabi Hill Gate, the landscape opens into vast golden plains dotted with acacia trees and endless wildlife. Enjoy a game drive en route to your central Serengeti camp or lodge. This is prime big cat country, so keep your camera ready for possible sightings of lions, cheetahs, and leopards. Arrive at your accommodation in the late afternoon for check-in, dinner, and a night under the African stars.
Today is dedicated to exploring the world-famous Serengeti in depth. After an early breakfast, you will head out for a full-day game drive across the central and northern sectors of the park, depending on wildlife movements and the season. With a packed lunch in hand, you will traverse open plains, riverbanks, and rocky kopjes in search of predators on the hunt, grazing herbivores, and — if your timing aligns — the spectacular Great Migration. Your guide will tailor the route to maximize wildlife encounters while ensuring a relaxed pace. Return to camp in the late afternoon for dinner and overnight.
On your second full day in Serengeti, you have the option to begin with a sunrise game drive — a magical time when predators are most active, and the golden light bathes the plains in stunning color. After breakfast (or post-drive), continue exploring new parts of the park. You may visit the hippo pools, follow lion tracks across the grasslands, or simply enjoy the serenity of the savannah. Your guide will share insights on animal behavior, birdlife, and ecosystem dynamics. After a rewarding day, return to your camp to unwind and reflect on your adventures.
After an early breakfast and a short morning game drive, you will begin your journey toward Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Descend into the Ngorongoro Crater — a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the most iconic wildlife destinations on the planet. The crater floor is home to over 25,000 animals, including endangered black rhinos, elephants, hippos, lions, and flamingos around Lake Magadi. Enjoy a picnic lunch inside the crater before ascending and driving to the nearby town of Karatu for your overnight stay at a charming lodge nestled in the highlands.
After breakfast, head to Lake Manyara National Park for your final game drive. This compact but biodiverse park is famous for its tree-climbing lions, large elephant populations, flamingos, and lush groundwater forests. Explore the park’s unique ecological zones during a leisurely drive and enjoy a picnic lunch near the lake. In the afternoon, you’ll begin your return journey to Arusha, where your safari ends with a drop-off at your hotel or airport for onward travel.
