Kilimanjaro Climb and Safari

<p>•Pickup from your accommodations in Moshi and drive to Machame gate for registration formalities</p><p>•Start climbing through Machame village covered in coffee and maize plantations</p><p>•The trail leads on to Machame camp to arrive in the evening</p><p>•Dinner and sleep at the camp</p><p></p>

<p>•Climb through the rainforest approaching the moorland zone which displays magnificent views of Kibo (Kilimanjaro’s second highest peak)</p><p>•Have lunch enroute and continue trekking into the Shira Plateau </p><p>•The path leads to Shira Camp to arrive in the evening</p><p>•Dinner and overnight stay at the camp</p><p></p>

<p>•Acclimatization day where you trek from Shira plateau towards Lava tower, a 300 ft tall volcanic rock formation</p><p>•Arrive at the tower around midday for rest and a lunch break</p><p>•Descend the tower for a short hike to Barranco camp</p><p>•Rest upon arrival while waiting for dinner to be served</p><p>•An overnight stay at the camp</p><p></p>

<p>•Start by a steep climb up the Barranco wall of 900 ft high</p><p>•Proceed walking across a series of hills and valleys to approach Karanga valley where you will break for lunch</p><p>•Trek out of Karanga to reach Mweka junction (4150m)</p><p>•Proceed with the hike to join Mweka trail which finally leads to Barafu Camp</p><p>•Have much rest and drink lot of water upon arrival while waiting for dinner</p><p>•Retire to bed early by 07:00 p.m</p><p></p>

<p>•Wake up around 23:30 for a hot cup of coffee and putting on trekking gears </p><p>•By midnight, transfer to the base of the mountain for the final summit attempt</p><p>•Hike through the volcanic scree to reach Stella point at 5735 m</p><p>•Rest a while and make the final 1:30 hour round trip to Uhuru peak (Africa’s highest peak)</p><p>•Get time for photographs while feeling accomplished standing at the roof of Africa</p><p>•After much celebrations and rest, start descending to reach Mweka camp in the evening</p><p>•Dinner and overnight stay at the camp</p><p></p>

<p>•Have breakfast and go for a short walk to finally reach Machame gate</p><p>•Upon arrival, show appreciation to the team by tipping them</p><p>•Get awarded with certificates whereby golden certificates are given to hikers who reached Uhuru peak and green certificates for Stella point hikers</p><p>•Return back to Mweka village for a drive to Arusha town </p><p>•Overnight stay at the booked hotel</p><p></p>

<p>•Pickup at the hotel for a drive to the exclusive Serengeti national park</p><p>•Arrive in the afternoon in time for lunch </p><p>•Proceed with an afternoon game drive to spot lions, large herds of wildebeests, leopards and variety of bird species</p><p>•Transfer to the booked hotel for dinner and sleep</p><p></p>

<p>•Depart for a day’s game drive in the savannah endless plains for a real African bush experience</p><p>•Game view to spot leopards, hartebeests, lions, elephants, warthogs, toppi, giraffes, cheetahs, buffaloes, antelopes and hyenas</p><p>•Break for a picnic lunch and proceed with game drive till evening</p><p>•Return to the hotel for an overnight stay</p><p></p>

<p>•Checkout the hotel with packed lunch for a drive to Ngorongoro</p><p>•Have an early lunch and pay a visit to the Maasai bomas</p><p>•Get a chance to see and learn about their culture and tradition</p><p>•Transfer to the booked hotel for dinner and sleep</p><p></p>

<p>•Have early breakfast and drive to Ngorongoro crater, one of Africa’s seven natural wonders</p><p>•Game drive to spot Big five (lion, elephant, buffalo, leopard and rhino), zebras, antelopes, elands, wildebeests, hyenas, hippos, Oryx many bird species</p><p>•Break for lunch at one of the picnic sites</p><p>•Proceed with the visit to the crater lake to see large numbers of flamingos laid beautifully on the lake</p><p>•Ascend of the crater and drive back to Arusha</p><p></p>
