Day 1 :

Day 1: Machame Gate (1640 m) To Machame Camp (2835 m)

•Pickup from your accommodations in Moshi and drive to Machame gate for registration formalities•Start climbing through Machame village covered in coffee and maize plantations•The trail leads on to Machame camp to arrive in the evening•Dinner and sleep at the camp

Day 2 :

Day 2: Machame Camp (2835 m) To Shira Camp (3850 m

•Climb through the rainforest approaching the moorland zone which displays magnificent views of Kibo (Kilimanjaro’s second highest peak)•Have lunch enroute and continue trekking into the Shira Plateau •The path leads to Shira Camp to arrive in the evening•Dinner and overnight stay at the camp

Day 3 :

Day 3: Shira Camp (3850 m) To Lava Tower (4600 m) To Barranco Camp(3900 m)

•Acclimatization day where you trek from Shira plateau towards Lava tower, a 300 ft tall volcanic rock formation•Arrive at the tower around midday for rest and a lunch break•Descend the tower for a short hike to Barranco camp•Rest upon arrival while waiting for dinner to be served•An overnight stay at the camp

Day 4 :

Day 4: Barranco Camp (3900 m) To Karanga Camp (4000 m)

•Start by a steep climb up the Barranco wall of 900 ft high•Proceed walking across a series of hills and valleys to approach Karanga valley •Break for lunch and continue hiking to finally reach Karanga camp in the late afternoon•inner and sleep at the camp

Day 5 :

Day 5: Karanga Camp (4000 m) To Barafu Camp (4600 m)

•Trek out of Karanga to reach Mweka junction (4150m)•Proceed with the hike to join Mweka trail which finally leads to Barafu Camp•Have much rest and drink lot of water upon arrival while waiting for dinner•Retire to bed early by 07:00 p.m

Day 6 :

Day 6: Summit Ascent At Uhuru Peak (5895 m)

•Wake up around 23:30 for a hot cup of coffee and putting on trekking gears •By midnight, transfer to the base of the mountain for the final summit attempt•Hike through the volcanic scree to reach Stella point at 5735 m•Rest a while and make the final 1:30 hour round trip to Uhuru peak (Africa’s highest peak)•Get time for photographs while feeling accomplished standing at the roof of Africa•After much celebrations and rest, start descending to reach Mweka camp in the evening•Dinner and overnight stay at the camp

Day 7 :

Day 7: Mweka Camp (3100 m) To Machame Gate (1640 m)

•Have breakfast and go for a short walk to finally reach Machame gate•Upon arrival, show appreciation to the team by tipping them•Get awarded with certificates whereby golden certificates are given to hikers who reached Uhuru peak and green certificates for Stella point hikers•Return back to Mweka village for a drive to Moshi/Arusha town or a flight back home
